San Diego Feb.23-26

Jim and I took off for a few days off --
business meetings for Jim and R&R for me. We flew to beautiful and mild San Diego. The night we arrived we walked down old town Gaslight District and found a fun place to have dinner then strolled back to the Hotel.

This is a picture of the San Diego Convention Center from the Harbor side showing our Hotel the Omni - the tall building. We stayed on the 13th floor in a room on the far right side---can you find it ?

Here is a group of us old friends and busines associates meeting for a 3 hour dinner. I didn't mind so much because we got to visit and enjoy each others company. It was good food when it came. Great bunch of people from all across the country.

Dinner with my folks Feb. 21

Meet my folks at Chuck-A-Rama on Thursday the 21 of Feb. and had a nice visit and good food. I am so proud of myself for restraining from deserts and sugars. What will power........
Dad told us all about the big Framer Reunion coming up in Southern Utah in June and it sounds really fun.

HAPPY LEAP YEAR 2008

HAPPY LEAP YEAR 2008!
Now that is something you can only say once in a live time or for that matter ever!
So leap, leap and leap some more for there are only a few hours left to leap!!!!
Just had to acknowledge this once in every four year day.

Well We Got IT! The MUMBO-GUMBO And the Grandkid fix

Came home from a class and doing errands on Wed. the 6th and boy did it hit-sickness!!!!!
And being the kind wife I am I shared it with Jim so by Saturday he was hit also.( I didn't give it to him on purpose) We spent the next 10 days really out of it. No fun.

Finally we felt among the human race again and needed our Grandkid fix, so off to Provo we went to visit and deliever belated Valentine gifts. The Johnson's were driving back from a trip to Mesa AZ so we just left their goodies on the couch as a suprise.

It was SOOOOO good to see my little ones again. Boy are they a powerful pick-me-up!

They are so fun to hold and cuddle with and play with!!!
Tyce is really Mr. Smiles and Makayla and Kalyana are just full of energy.

Here is Grandpa holding the group, but Kalyana was playing "not me" and kept running out of the picture so finally I just snaped one of her and her folks.

After opening Valentine gifts we played and visited a little then went out to dinner at TGIFridays.

Here we are in the car on the way home.
Really fun and enjoyable evening........Thanks Lambsons!!!

My week in review Jan 23-27

Wednesday evening was our ward Temple night. Jim was out of town so I went with the Kenners. It was a great evening with over 40 people from our ward there. What a wonderful place to be with dear dear people. Rob, Ronda and I hit Marie Calanders after and had a late but delicious meal and of course PIE, my very favorite desert.
Thursday I met "the girls" for lunch at Bajio. "The girls" are my friends from Salem and Payson. I meet them through Elaine and a class we took from Micheal Wilcox. It was so good to get together and catch up and visit and just be together. They are great ladies and wonderful friends.
After lunch I went over to Debbies to visit why my little ones. It was so fun to see them and play. Heidi was there too with Austin so I got to see and play with all 4 precious ones.

Kalyana and I visited with Aunt Heather on the phone.

Tyce was practicing rolling for his Mom, Heidi and Austin and of course grandma the picture taker. Austin held and hugged Tyce ---he loves his cousin Tyce.

I headed home about 4ish in a big snow storm and it took over an hour to get home. The freeway was just a big parking lot going very slowly. Attended my second RS Presidency meeting and we got lots done.
I picked Jim up at the airport Friday afternoon. He had been in San Diego for the week at MBE/UPS meetings. It was sure good to have him home. I really missed him.
Sat. we meet Elaine and Bruce and went to dinner and then drove up to Bountiful to a reception for children of two very dear Duarte friends the Reeves and Andersons. Reid and Jessica tied the families together for ever. It was wonderful to visit and see old and dear friends.
Today I taught RS for the last time as the official Teaching for our Times teacher. Now I will get to teach once very 3 months with a Presidency message. It was ward conference today and we hear great talks from our Bishop and Stake President.
Well on to a new week full of adventures to tell later.................

Visit from the Johnsons Jan 20-22

Love those cute Grandkids!!!!

Here is a picture of Austin loving his cousin Tyce at Makayla's birthday part. He is such a loving little guy and so happy to have a boy cousin.
Sunday evening the Johnsons came to spend a few days with us since Anthony was flying to LA for work. Heidi and Austin will meet Anthony at home Tues evening. Sure do enjoy having the around!
We had tons of fun while they were here on Monday and Tuesday. Some of our activities included: Austin fixing some of the toys in the play room..... Unscrewing the panel and putting in new batteries and exercising on my treadmill. What a adorable little man!

We woke up to almost a foot of powdery snow in our yard. The cars were buried and it was almost impossible to get into the street because of the depth. It took Jim almost 2 hours to clear the sidewalks and drive way and cars......burrrrrrr cold! Sure wish I had taken a picture of Jim out there snow blowing.....next storm I will.

Happy Birthday Makayla Raela our precious 2 year old! We had a Tinker Bell party on Saturday evening for our cute little Makayla Rae. Her official birthday was Sunday Jan 20th.

Grandma dressed Makayla and Kalyana up as little Tinker Bells. They got Tinker nightgowns and play shoes and necklaces and crowns. Oh how adorable.

We had Pizza and birthday cake with 2 candles that Makayla blew out. We opened lots of fun presents and played with the baloons.

Dinner with the Johnson's

We picked up the kids Christmas things that we store at our house and went to dinner at Wingers on Friday night with Heidi, Anthony and Austin. I can't tell you how cute that little man is and how much he loves his Bapa (Grandpa). He just talked and talked to Jim moving his little hands to emphasized his points and then would put his head on his shoulder and pat him saying Bapa-Bapa.
It was a great visit and we enjoyed it so much. After dinner we played Clue and Heidi was the master mind that figured it out first.

Kalyana & Makayla Sleep Over Jan 9-10

Wow can you believe it Debbie and Tarl have been married for 6 years on the 10th. Just Wonderful!!! I am so thankful they found each other for they are so great together and so ment for each other. Tarl is a blessing to our family and we are so greatful to have our 1st wonderful son! (Our daughters had to marry to get boys in our family.) Our second wonderful son came along in 2004 when Heidi married Anthony-but that is another story-back to this one.
I went to Provo and watched all 3 kids so Deb and Tarl could go out and celebrate for the afternoon. Then I brought my sweet Little Girls home for a Grandma sleep over. We had such a good time.

Playing in the play room, bath time, movie night with popcorn and finally sleep. The next day was just as fun and since the Christmas stuff is still up we played with Elmo and Tigger and Music box toy assembly line. Jim and I drove the girls home about 5 that evening. They sure wear us out but we LOVE every second of it. Such sweet and marvelous memories!!! Such special and terrific Precious little ones!!!!

New Church Calling Jan 8 2008

On Sunday Jan. 6th I was asked to meet with the Bishop on Tues for a calling. Of course the mind starts to race and anticipation builds. So Tue. evening finally came and I was called as the 2nd Co. in the Relief Society Presidency with Marla Wood being the President and Cathy Longstroth the 1st Co. It really did feel right and I was pleased to accept. On Sunday the 13th they sustained us in church and then after we were set apart. I am a firm believer in the power of stewardship and the mantel of the office being bestowed by the power of the Priesthood. Meetings have already started and I am certain that life will certainly be different at our house this year with my new church calling!

Jan 4 & 5 Cleaning & Organizating

There must be something in the air certain times of the year. It seems to create a cleaning and order mood. That is what Jim and I have. Hope it lasts a while so we can get lots of decluttering done. I started in my linen closet and then went to my bedroom and then started putting a few Christmas things away and then went to my kitchen drawers and cubboards. I am really good and starting ------- now the goal is to finish the ones I have started before starting more.
I got a Dragon speaking computer program for Christmas. Jim installed it and is helping me learn how to use it. You just speak and the computer types for you. It should prove to be fun and interesting. It seems we have to train each other.

New Year 2008 Jan 1&2

Happy New Year to ALL 2008
This year I am really going to be a much better blogger. It is so fun to read Heidi's and Debbie's and I want to have a fun record of the year like that==== so hear goes.
New Year's eve we had the whole family here. It was GREAT! We had all our favorite snacks and played games. We were so involved that 10 seconds before mid-night Debbie reminded us to look and we all ran down to the TV and gave our quiet cheers and claps so as not to wake up all the little ones.
New Years Day the Johnsons headed home to recop from their trip to Tenn. and illness. The rest of us including Grandpa Duffin and a friend of Heather's had a wonderful Prime Rib dinner.
We sent some down to the Johnsons and Tarl with Debbie so all got to participate.
This morning Jim took Heahter to the airpot and tonight she called and is safe and sound back in Virigina. Here in the morning and back east in the evening. I sure do miss her already. But I will go out and visit in just 3 short months!
Today I went to Provo to sit for the Lambsons. It was only 3 hours but Wow! 3 all needing attention at once-- how did I ever do it when my girls where that age. I sure do enjoy being with them thought. I took Kalyana over to Shoko with me and she remined me so much of her mom. Debbies favorite phrase in every store was " I really need this" and that is what Kalyana said. It was so cute and so funny. Like Mother like daugher. And of course Grandma can not refuse.
I stopped at Johnsons for a few minutes to visit my sickies. Then drove home to more Prime Rib yum.

Sunday Dec 29 I finished the first book in a series of 3 called Fishers Of Men. I really enjoyed it and will start book 2 soon. It is all about Christ and what the people were like in his time.

Last Friday Dec 28 we held the annual Gates party at our ward building. As always it was fun to share a meal and then sing the Gates music. This was the first year with out any of the sisters.
All have returned home, with 2 going this past year, and that night they were all probably having a wonderful reunion with their folks and Buddy and singing right along with us.

We recieved so many christmas letters , pictures and cards from such dear friends, Many we only hear from once a year due to lives many demands and busyness. It was wonderful to read them and be part of their lives for a few minutes druning this magic time of year.

The best part of Christmas was having my family all here around me. I love to be with them and bask in their energy and goodness. Even though it can get hectic I LOVE IT! We had Heather with us for 2 weeks ....that was terrific.
We had 2 Christmas --- one with the whole family on the 21st and a real quiet one with Jim Heahter and I on Christmas. Both were so very enjoyable and fun. Those sweet little grandkids were so amazing and adorable to watch. Oh the Joy and Innonce of Youth. Love and Happiness and Pure Awe just radiates from them. They are so Precious to be around
What wonderful daughers we have --I am so grateful for them! Heidi and Debbie have the Best Husbands and most precious kids. How I love gleaming enjoyment, sweetness, tenderness, love and pureness from their little beings.
